Information for Parents

Facilities

The Great Adventure Camp (GAC) is located at The Cat Spring Retreat in Cat Spring, Texas, which is 45 minutes from Katy between Sealy and New Ulm. The facilities include air-conditioned cabins and buildings. We average 100 campers per week and 50 staff. Each counselor is assigned five to seven campers. All of our buildings and cabins are grouped in the same area.

Arrival and Departure

The camp session begins at 4pm on Monday afternoon for campers and ends at 11:30am Saturday.

Registration

Please fill out the registration form and send it with the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $50. If there is not an opening in camp, your money will be refunded. Information on the registration form is used to group campers into cabins. A packet of information will be emailed to you that includes what to bring, medical forms, etc. The ages of the camps are based on a camper’s age by September 1st. A camp T-shirt is included in the price of camp.

Training

All of our full time staff will have been through a rigorous in-depth week of staff training before camp begins. This training includes first aid, CPR, childhood development, how to work with campers, appropriate behavior with campers, activity training, and more. Most of our staff are former campers or staff members that know first-hand what the life changing camp week means to a camper.

Safety

A paramedic is on site. Certified lifeguards are on duty at all swimming and lake activities.
